  • Where can I donate the fruit?
Not all shelters accept fresh fruit, so we will provide you with a list of locations that do, along with the amount of fruit they can accommodate. In some cases, you may need to distribute the fruit across a few different locations to ensure it’s all accepted. For example, our largest donation so far was 800 pounds of pears delivered to Martha’s Kitchen in San Jose this summer.
  • When is the next event?
Please check the events section on the main page!
  • How can I get involved?
There are two ways you can participate: Join Us at the Farm: After we coordinate with the farm owner and schedule a fruit-picking event, we’ll notify you of the time and location. You can drive to the farm, help harvest the fruit, and then deliver it directly to local food banks and community shelters. San Jose Distribution: If you can’t join us at the farm, we’ll bring the harvested fruit to a designated spot in San Jose. You can meet us there, collect the fruit, and take it to local food banks and community shelters. In both cases, we kindly ask that you take photos for our blog and, most importantly, obtain a receipt from the food bank for the donated fruit. This ensures we can accurately track and share the impact of our collective efforts.
  • How can I become a volunteer?
This is a student-led initiative supported by parents, and we encourage volunteers aged 14 and older to get involved. We ask that younger volunteers participate with the guidance and assistance of their parents.
  • Do you also donate nuts?
Yes, we do! We collaborate with almond and pistachio farms, as well as processing facilities, to facilitate nut donations to local food banks. We have already donated 15 pounds of almonds and are actively working to convince additional almond farm owners to contribute. Our goal is to expand these donations and support more communities in need.
  • Where are these farms located?
Most of the farms we visit are located in Sacramento, Madera and Fresno neighborhoods.
